CVC Clipart Ready to Go

Wow! Spring break is coming to an end. As sad as that is for me (I really enjoyed spending lots of time with my toddler), I am happy to say that I accomplished a lot of my personal goals. The first thing is that I started my TPT business and I'm making great strides building my store up with lots of teacher-ready products. My newest creations were really fun for me. I created over 100 new pieces of clip art - drawing CVC doodles on an ipad. Here's a little cat I drew up for the CVC short a set. As a kindergarten teacher I know my short vowels well, so my clipart really is for CVC words.

If you like this picture, you can hop over to my store and see if you want to grab it for yourself. It's perfect for designing worksheets, helping your littles sound out CVC words, and much more!

Spring Cleaning Sale!

Have you been wanting some awesome teacher made products that align with the CCSS for kindergarten? My whole TPT store is going on sale this weekend and it's the perfect time to shop. Click this button to jump over to my store. :)

You might want to check out my story problem packets that are great for teaching the concept of addition and subtraction with little farm animal pieces. It's a hands-on way to act out adding and subtraction.

There is also a big packet of syllable worksheet sorts. I know that we're going to be working on this concept in the next month or so. This packet has 1-2-3-4-&5 syllable words for students to sort. There are different levels. You can pick what kind of sorts would meet your students needs (from easy to hard).

My grade level team and I just finished a 6 week PLT/collaboration teaching our students the concept of place value with numbers 11-19 as aligned to the CCSS. I made lots of interactive practice pages and assessments for students to use to represent numbers with tens and ones. Usually place value work that you can find is way to hard for kindergarten, but this pack is tried and true. It's not too hard for your kids to begin learning about place value.

A morning staple in my class is sentence building. We work hard to build our sight word fluency - so students are always doing word-work during centers. Here is a great packet of easy-to use printables for students to work on their sight words.

Lastly, for any Oregonians out there. I made 2 custom packets of geography work using landforms and natural resources. These are for *3rd grade* Oregon standards. I know, I know...it's not for Kindergarten...(it's for my sister who teaches 3rd grade). And hey, if you like that landform clipart - guess what? I drew it all myself! I think it turned out super cute. It has glitter. Everything is better with glitter. You can find my clipart package in my store too!

It's been a busy spring break for me - I've been doing lots of work while my little guy naps - and hopefully by sharing things at a discount this weekend you can benefit from it too. Also, don't miss the freebies in my TPT store. I still like to share the love. And las but not least, have a blessed Easter this Sunday!

Super Syllables

I created a new Super Syllables packet for kindergarten. It's a new product for $4 in my TPT store.

Test it out - see if you like it. Do you need more resources for this CCSS - to teach blending and counting syllables? I needed more syllable activities for my students so I created this packet.

First, we'll sort the big picture cards in a pocket chart - we will clap out the syllables of each picture. Then sort them under the number of syllables header cards.

1 syllable

2 syllables

3 syllables

4 syllables

Next kids will practice sorting pictures by syllables independently.

Spring Break News

I'm finally on Spring Break. Yesss.... *sigh*! I really love my kids this year, but what makes this break really special is that I finally get some downtime to play with my own child and to relax. It's so fun watching him play and learn. Over the past few days he's learned how to recite the ABC song and is doing such smart stuff all the time. We took my little one out to our first movie as a family (saw Croods). It was actually pretty hilarious and not too scary for the little one. He loves animals and dinosaurs, so it was right up his alley. To top things off, last week I finished my final class for my MASTERS! Can you believe that? I'm finally done - out of graduate school. It's been a long time coming - I started slowly in 2006, taking one class a term at night. What a weight off my shoulders!

Anyhow, I've been working hard at getting my TPT store up and running. I created an easy writing page for my students to do after we get back from spring break.

If you want to grab it for FREE head on over there!

I'm also working on putting up some emergent readers. These take me a while to make because I buy the clipart legally, buy the fonts, and do test prints so I know they come out clear. With that said, I am charging a small fee for them. If you're searching for freebies, check out my BLOG because it's got a lot of them.
